After losing 50+ pounds the traditional way, then watching 20 pounds creep back on despite counting every calorie and working out 2 hours every day, I finally discovered what was really causing the problem. Once I addressed the root cause, I lost the weight again and have kept it off for 13+ years without the constant battle.

I tried the typical "eat less, move more" approach and white-knuckled my way through years of tiny portions, constant hunger, and exhausting workouts. I kept the weight off for a while, but it was miserable and quite frankly, a LOT of work - and then it just stopped working entirely. I was gaining weight while doing everything 'perfectly,' and I started to panic. I couldn't eat less without starving, and there weren't enough hours in the day to exercise more. I was terrified this was just my life now.

When I discovered I was insulin resistant, everything clicked. The problem wasn't my willpower or that I needed to “diet harder” - My hormones were outta whack and fighting me every step of the way. I, personally, don’t believe that we are meant to be counting, measuring, tracking everything we eat and then having to go “kill it” in the gym every day. That's just not how our bodies were meant to work! And who has time to do all of that anyway?
